Quality of life and factors in glaucoma patients at Boru Meda Hospital, Ethiopia
This study evaluated the quality of life of glaucoma patients and identified factors affecting it. Key Findings:
- 44.85% of glaucoma patients reported poor quality of life.
- Key factors influencing quality of life included longer diagnosis duration, rural residence, and comorbid ocular diseases.
- Bilateral glaucoma and moderate anxiety/depression were associated with poorer outcomes.
The study supports implementing community-based glaucoma screening initiatives aimed at early identification and treatment, particularly focusing on rural communities and individuals with bilateral glaucoma.
