Prevalence and types of glaucoma in Bangladesh: a population-based survey
This nationwide survey in Bangladesh determined the prevalence of glaucoma among individuals aged 35 and older. Key Findings:
- Glaucoma affects 3.2% of individuals aged 35+
- 78% of cases are primary open-angle glaucoma and 16% are angle-closure glaucoma.
- Older age and male gender are associated with a higher risk of glaucoma.
