Prevalence and demographics of keratoconus among high school students in Nairobi
This study investigated the prevalence of keratoconus among high school students in Nairobi in Kenya. Key Findings:
- 1.7% of high school students had keratoconus, and 3.8% were suspects.
- No significant links were found between keratoconus and gender, age, or ethnicity.
- 88.2% of affected students were unaware of their condition.
The study provides insights into the demographic characteristics of affected students, which can inform screening and intervention strategies.
