Pattern of Uveitis in Northern Vietnam
This study analyzed the characteristics and patterns of uveitis cases diagnosed at three tertiary hospitals in Hanoi City, Vietnam. Key Findings:
- Anterior uveitis was the most common form, accounting for 40% of cases.
- The paper reported 6 cases (1.5%) of uveitis associated with Haemophilus influenzae without systemic symptoms, which is rarely reported in literature.
- The most common complications were cataract (11.2%), uveitic macular edema (11%), and retinal detachment (8%).
This study showed non-infectious causes (40.5%) predominated over infectious causes (27.5%), with 32% remaining undifferentiated. Anterior uveitis was most prevalent, followed by panuveitis, posterior uveitis, and intermediate uveitis.
