Ocular Trauma Causes in the Philippines: Heatmap Development
This descriptive-developmental study focused on developing a web-based application to visualize ocular trauma incidents at the Department of Health Eye Clinic in Manila. Key Findings:
- 1,036 ocular trauma cases, 81% affecting females
- 64% of injuries occurred in work settings
- Leading causes included unknown sources, motorcycle accidents, and sharp objects
The study concluded that the web-based ocular trauma with visualization system was efficient in assisting the Department of Health Eye Clinic staff in encoding ocular injury details with either smartphones or laptops.
